Baby Survives Abortion

Baby born at 21 1/2 weeks

A baby boy survived an abortion.

Twenty hours after he was aborted a priest who was praying over the child noticed that he was still alive. The priest notified medical authorities who rushed the baby to a neonatal unit.

Life saving measures were not successful. The baby, who was born on Saturday, died on Monday.

The incident occurred in Rossano, Italy. The abortion occurred at 22 weeks.

Look at the photograph of a different baby born after 21 1/2 weeks, a 1/2 week younger than the baby who survived the abortion, and tell me that this is not insanity. Like the ostrich with its head in the sand, the pro abortion mind goes through the necessary mental gymnastics, and rationalizes that if the baby is not visible the baby is not a baby, but rather a fetus, and the killing is not killing, but rather it’s aborting.

God have mercy on us.

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.”

Proverbs 31:8

Denver Math Teacher Risks His Life to Save Others — Video

Math teacher David Benke risked his life to save the lives of Deer Creek Middle School students. He heard shots being fired and rather than running for cover he ran to the shooter and wrestled him to the ground, effectively ending the the shooting spree. Read more at CBS 4 Denver .

Your Life:

You and I may not get the opportunity to put ourselves in harm’s way to save the life of another. But if you think about it, you and I have the opportunity to put the lives of others before ourselves in a myriad of other ways every day.

Do for others more than you do for yourself.

Of course Jesus set the ultimate example by giving the ultimate sacrifice, His Divine Self. In spite of our flaws, frailties, and sin, we live in a forgiven state before God because Jesus died on the cross for us. He traded His life so we could have eternity with Him.

In the words of Jesus:

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

Marine Shot in Head, Walks Away

Photo From DVIDSHUB

Like many of us, Marksman Lance Cpl. Andrew Koenig went to work on Monday (February 15) but his job was somewhat more of an adventure than yours or mine. Somewhere near Marjah, Afghanistan, Lance Cpl. Koenig’s assignment was to make the roof of his outpost and find Taliban targets to shoot. But before he even fired one shot, a Taliban marksman shot and hit him, in the head, a direct hit, nearly between the eyes. He was knocked backward to the ground and immediately cried out that he was hit. Only thing was, he wasn’t bleeding. To the surprise of those who saw him shot he popped up and made his way, under his own power, down off the roof to a medic. Lance Cpl. Andrew Koenig’s kevlar helmet took the bullet leaving nothing more than a welt above his right eye.

“He’s alive for a reason,” Tim Coderre, a North Carolina narcotics detective working with the Marines as a consultant, told one of the men. “From a spiritual point of view, that doesn’t happen by accident.”

Michael M. Phillips, Wall Street Journal

Koenig’s supply officer teased him about turning in a damaged equipment report.

Within an hour or two Koenig was back on the roof looking for Taliban targets.

Amazing.

Your Life:

While we should never tempt the Lord by living a foolish self destructive lifestyle — Matthew 4:7 Jesus said, “Do not put the Lord your God to the test.” – nor should we live in fear of our death, for God has numbered our days. Jesus also said,

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Medical Teams International Worker Faces Haitian Wild Animal

Medical Teams International worker, Kellen Knott, recently faced down native Haitian predatory wildlife. After waking in the morning he found this tarantula lurking a mere 3 ft. from his sleeping bag. You can read his own account at Kellen Knott’s blog. (For more see previous post Helping Haiti)

Girgis Baroumi — Is this kid innocent?

Is this kid innocent? According to the Pakistan Christian Post Girgis Baroumi has been accused of sexually assaulting a 12 year old girl. He is currently incarcerated in Egypt and will stand trial in an Egyptian court. I’m not saying that the 12 year old is not telling the truth however some facts will shed light on current attitudes in Egypt toward Christians.

Girgis Baroumi is a Coptic Christian. There is no forensic evidence to support the accusation, no witnesses, and no lawyer volunteered to take his case — one had to be brought in from Cairo.

In sharp contrast consider the case of Hammam al-Qomy, Oreshi Abul Hagag and Hindawi Sayed Hassan. All three are Muslim. On Christmas eve as people were leaving a Coptic Christian church service in Nag Hamadi three men shot and killed five Coptic Christians and wounded seven others. Two days after the incident the three above named men were found hiding in a field near where authorities found the vehicle used in the drive by shooting. (See the Christian Post for more information.)

They confessed.

Later they recanted. 25 lawyers volunteered to defend them. The Muslim community is trying to link Baroumi’s alleged sexual assault to the drive by shooting.

Habib el-Adly, Minister of Interior, said on January 24, in an interview on the Egyptian TV programme “City Talk” that el-Kamony is a hired killer, but “he got so upset about the rape and the videos of nude Muslim girls with Christian men, that it triggered the shooting urge in him.”

Pakistan Christian Post

“…triggered the shooting urge in him.” You can hardly blame a guy for killing five innocent people and wounding seven others if his shooting urge has been triggered. Right? Discrimination is one thing but wow, when the Egyptian Minister of Interior makes public statements like this it is incredible! Even if Baroumi’s charges aren’t trumped up, which is very debatable.

Your Life:

Ever get nervous about being open with others concerning your relationship with Christ. Consider the situation of Christians in the Middle East. Only 12% of the Egyptian population are Christians and they are indeed discriminated against. What most of us endure is merely annoying by comparison. Jesus said that “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.” John 15:18   Jesus also said,

Blessed are you when men hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their fathers treated the prophets.

Luke 6:22, 23

Be strong in your faithfulness to Him.

Pray for our Christian brothers and sisters in the Middle East.

Pray for Girgis Baroumi.
